It is the simple things that can make the most impact!

Relationship building in real estate is everything! From working hard to provide exceptional service throughout the real estate transaction to remembering your client on their birthday. Every detail matters, and sometimes, it is the simplest things that work to exceed expectations and set you apart.

Sending a client a beautiful text message with a free Starbucks coffee is one of those simple ideas that can go a long way in brightening your client’s day, with the bonus of keeping you and your services top of mind.

How Does It Work?

It is as easy as loading up a Starbuck Gift Card and sharing the barcode in a beautiful textable card.

Upon purchasing the Textable Card template from Real Estate Design Co on ETSY, you are ready to head to the Starbucks app and generate a bar code.

Here are some easy steps you can follow to purchase a Starbucks gift card and share the barcode with your client:

  1. Get the app: Download the Starbucks App on your iPhone or Android device.

  2. Create a free account: Once the app is downloaded, create your free account by clicking on "Join Rewards."

  3. Choose the gift card: This is where you'll select the gift card you want to purchase. The design and colors don't matter, ultimately, all you'll need is the barcode generated from the gift card.

  4. Fill out your information: Fill out all the required information on the next screen. Enter your own email address as the recipient and skip the message part.

  5. Decide on the amount: Decide on the dollar amount to load onto the card and add your credit card for payment.

Next,

  1. Check your email: You should receive three different emails from Starbucks. The first is your receipt, which you should save for accounting purposes (it’s a business marketing expense). The second email notifies you that the gift card has been delivered to you as the recipient (you). The last email contains the e-gift card with the barcode you'll be sharing with your clients.

  2. Screenshot the barcode: Open the last email and click ‘Redeem my eGift now.’ This will display the e-gift card with a large barcode. Take a screenshot of the barcode.

PRO TIP: Crop the image to make it visually appealing, to include only the barcode.

  1. Pop the image of the barcode onto your text message Canva template: Open the template you purchased in our ETSY shop, and add the image of the barcode to the template. Make sure you also add your business photo, and contact details and edit the message if you choose … everything is customizable.

Now you can give your clients a coffee on you! They will be thrilled by this kind gesture and may become lifelong followers.

PRO TIP: You can go through this process, creating an individual bar code for a complimentary drink (~$5), each time, or alternatively, you can go through this process once, and use the same barcode on each text message template you send & set the your gift card to reload.

Setting The Card to Reload

Using the card number and PIN from the email, add the gift card as one of your cards in your personal Starbucks app. Then underneath that card, click on Manage and set the Auto Reload to $20. Now whenever the card empties, it will automatically add another $20 and no one has to worry about pulling up to Starbucks and the card doesn’t work.

It’s that easy!
